Hi comrades, hope everyone is having a great day. @burgerkingghidorah ask:
I normally love the monster hunter team’s choices when it comes to monster classification, but I’m not gonna lie when I say that the Wingdrake was a horrible decision. Why so? Remember when Remobra was a small flying wyvern? Yeah, until they made it a snake wyvern, which even further confuses the snake wyvern classification. Mernos, Noios, and the two other Wingdrakes shown in world should have been small flying wyverns. It just makes more sense and logic than making a brand new species.
In this post we have Remobra (top) Flying Wyvern until MH4 when Najarala and Tidal Najarala appeared with the Snake Wyvern monster type and change Remobra to a Snake Wyvern too.
Then we have two more Flying Wyverns: Egyurasu from MHFG10 (right), and Halk from MHFF.2 (left). Halk can do this: As of Monster Hunter Frontier Forward 4, Halks can now "carry" hunters in the same fashion as a Farcaster. The Halk will transport the Hunter to any area in the map
Finally in MH:World, Mernos (right) and Noios (left) are Wingdrakes, also Rafinosu a Wingdrake from the Coral Highlands area. Wingdrakes can also carry hunters to other areas.
I agree, it’s confusing. I think they add a brand new species to get a clear path to new hunters about small flying wyverns that can “carry” the hunter.
