So not sure what to write really but I did it.. 70 miles as it turns out around the New Forest.... Â so what are the highlights and the low lights..Â
Well I can report that there is no Forest in the New Forest.. I was expecting a lot more oak and birch type woods.. all I saw really was lots of health, which turns out is really really really windy... so meant that the second half of the ride was into a strong head wind.. not as fun as it could of been that bit...
The first half was ok and I managed to vaugly stick to the time I had wanted, but it was the second half where I dropped behind schedule.. but hay ho it i was all a learning curve for me around distance, fueling, the general ride and so on...  so 4 days later would I do it again.. yes probably  as amazingly my legs don’t really ache as much as I expected and the experience was good.. just less wind next time please...
All right in this photo I am actually not dating with the city but working at my office. And this was the view in December when it snowed heavily. Well, seems nice I know but doesn't change the reality that "there is no green in this freakin' city!!!" What a "forest" view I have, huh?Â
