Really depends on the issues that they have, if they’re overly dependent on one another going cold turkey could be very stressful for the birds which may not be the best option.  Sometimes it’s better to slowly work them apart from one another with careful training as to reduce stress and fully chip away at the problem.  Often when just pulled away the issues don’t really get solved, the next time they see one another they could just cling together again and potentially make the issue harder to deal with.

Part of the problem is that there’s two of them, they will be much more likely to want to sit with one another, still completely possible to get them to socialize more but it will take more time and work on your part.  If they want to leave, let them, provide plenty of treats and rewards to motivate them to want to spend more time with you, doing target training and other basic concepts like that will really help them associate you with positive things as well as learn how to communicate with you better.  Focus on their body language, move at their pace and they’ll come around.
