    “ Thing’s that matter are not easy. ”

    Talk about a life lesson. One that apparently all of the zodiacs have a problem learning. It takes a while for them all evidently- They all have so much that is precious to them, so many people to look after, that it becomes a problem. And yet strangely enough, she wouldn’t change it for the world; none of them would. If anything, the things they went through they would take multiple times to protect one another, as was the nature of their bond.

    A hand lightly patted the shoulder of the taller male and Skylar looked up to him, standing by his side. “ Thing’s that matter are not easy. ” she gave a nod, smiling softly up at him. “ But i mean. . . We wouldn’t change them, right? They’re too precious to give up. ”

    “ Borrow one. . ? ” Vanessa watched the other as he spoke- Just what had prompted such a question? It was slightly strange in her opinion, a little more forward in comparison to what had been said between the pair in previous conversations, and yet. . . Vanessa found herself wishing to comply. But then, the notion of him simply returning the same kiss wasn’t what she wished- She understood the premise, but she would rather receive one solely from him, too.

    Stepping slowly closer to Theodore, clearly still a little hesitant, dark optics were raised to meet his and a small hand reached up to lightly cup his cheek. “ How about I just give you one. . ? You can repay me by giving me a kiss of your own afterwards, alright? ” Slowly, Theodore was pulled down to be in reach of the short girl- her pausing once more once they were close in, contemplating her next move. He had certainly said what she thought, right? This wasn’t some mistake- Not a delusional daydream thought up in her boredom- This was certainly reality. And this was happening, right now.

    Leaning up, delusional thoughts and worries cast aside, Vanessa leaned up, lips pressing lightly onto those belonging to her love. This wasn’t the time to be embarrassed- It was now or never. It seemed like an eternity in her eyes- though truthfully it was mere seconds- before she pulled back, cheeks tinted a light pink as she glanced up at him, smiling softly.

    Thoughts whirred in the small girls head as she sat alongside Theodore, recent events still stirring up a little confusion whenever she thought about them. His whispers still fresh in her mind- a small, quiet ‘I love you’ rung out whenever those events would replay, casting itself over the rest of it all. A happy memory, to block out all of the pain that was inflicted physically on her, and on him mentally, she assumed.

    Glancing to the other, Vanessa couldn’t help but smile softly. Such an amazing person, staying right there beside her- a friend perhaps, but in her mind, something more. He was special in that way nobody else was to her- someone she could love with no doubts or protests arising in her mind. Nothing was saying that she couldn’t love him, but the question of whether his love was the same as hers- That still bugged her.

   Honestly, Vanessa knew that she would be lying if she said that she wasn’t scared by the sudden appearance. This man, someone she was absolutely positive she had met once before. . . Even just his appearance was enough to shake her to the core. Suddenly, she regretted allowing Theodore to leave her side, even for an instant, to collect a drink for the two of them.

   She had immediately turned, heading in the direction that he had walked off in, intent on following him- When the figure had closed in. A hand grasped onto her arm and Vanessa stalled, breath hitching in her throat, the other hissing a few words in her ear. ‘Let’s continue where we left off’ he spoke, the girl shivering in distaste before pulling her arm from his grip, attempting to continue walking away.

   It was only a few moments later that the girl found herself doubled over in pain, a fist coming into contact with her stomach. A loud grunt as another followed, her falling quickly to her knees, arms wrapped around her stomach as more blows followed, her unable to defend herself in any way. Tears fell, Vanessa kneeling on the ground, yelling out in pain after every blow.

    A quiet night which would have been spent alone, now one which she was hoping to spend with another- Only one person in mind as she thought about such a thing. Parker had left for the night, having offered to help out with the children a little more, and she had been left alone- the first time since she had been  living with him, that she would have been alone overnight. And it scared her- Vanessa didn’t want to be alone.

    Mobile in hand as she headed towards her destination, getting closer by the second, a bag was slung over her shoulder with clothing inside. Theodore was someone she knew always enjoyed her company- so her first reaction was to go to his house. Hopefully, he was in. If not. . . Well she would just have to get by on her own, she supposed.

    A knock on his door, and the girl stood waiting outside, rocking on her heels slightly as she waited, glancing about, for him to open the door. A friend she was indebted to, for as long as she lived in her opinion, she saw nothing wrong with making her way to his home, and spending time with him. The way she saw it- Theodore was one of the few she could truly trust, anyway, despite having not known him long.
