what unpopular opinion haven't i shared before lol, but one hot take i think about a lot is the fact that nico shouldn't be able to speak italian. not only did he Leave Italy very young, he left italy in the 30s, which was well before florentine standardization had reached its peak in the 60s (i've been reading a lot about modern day language debates, it's actually super fascinating. around 50% of italians today have a mother dialect, and many of them are mutually unintelligible!) oh also nico's not an old man, he's just emo
