So, in the new DLC, Lofty tells the gang that he comes from a village of fairies, where the boss banned them from interacting with humans. He also says that the story he used for his Trial of Knowledge was made by that boss. This story as we know closely resembles the story of NNK1, but it seems to be a more abridged version of it, and in this story, we know that the young wizard (Oliver) meets a fairy (Drippy) who joins him on his adventure.
So why would the fairy boss ban the fairies from interacting with humans, and then also tell them a story where a fairy helps humans save the world? Because it's his story.
He went on an adventure with those humans and helped them save the world. He grew very close to them. They were a tight-knit group of friends. But fairies live longer than humans.
What I'm saying is, maybe the boss of the fairies is our old friend The Lord High Lord of The Fairies, Drippy. He was very close to his old human friends, but they all passed away. Whether it was from war, illness, natural disaster, or just simply old age. They all passed on.
He outlived them and it hurt, so to keep his fairy friends from hurting that same way, he banned them from interacting with humans. That rule was followed of course, until Lofty came around and decided he wanted to be a Kingmaker.
