Never EVER! draw from imagination, use references, take pictures of yourself if needed, study, learn how things work, observe, build up a mental library, practice but making sure you understand what you’re doing and why. Using references doesn’t mean you’re not capable of doing it by “yourself” . All the great masters have studied those before them so there’s nothing wrong with getting some “help”
