I kind of want to 100% No More Heroes III, but my file is on Spicy difficulty and some of the Defense Missions are really really hard. There are dozens of waves and every enemy hits like a truck and has a massive health pool.
I already got 100% on everything else, though, except for T-Shirts (because the last few I need are unlocked by completing Defense Missions).
I’m surprised I was really able to find all of the cards, kittens, scorpions, statues and Doppelganger spots. I am really surprised I was able to find all 100 trees. I guess I’m just good at thoroughly exploring areas. There is no way I would have been able to do it without the radar chip, though.
Getting all of the Capsule Toys was more of a slog than anything. I pretty much just AFK’d and mashed the A button in front of the gacha machines while watching YouTube lol.
But, yeah. The only thing left to do in the game is complete all of the Defense Missions and then get Gold/SS ratings on all of the Volunteer and Defense Missions. It’s super grindy, though, and I don’t think there is any reward for doing it. Maybe when the game eventually comes out on PC I’ll do all of that for the Steam Achievements...
No More Heroes III's ending was wild. It's hard to believe that Suda52 said the series is over given the cliffhanger-esque ending and the popularity of the series (although, he has said the series is over before lol). Hopefully Marvelous Entertainmemt won't try to continue the series without him or anything dumb like that.
I'm pretty bummed that Henry's story wasn't explored more in NMHIII. In TSA it really felt like they were building up for Henry and his secret organization to be a main part of NMHIII's plot. The Parking Lot duel was a great throwback, but I really feel like Henry didn't get enough screentime this time around.
Overall the game was fantastic. The only things I would have liked to see were more playable characters and beam katanas like NMHII had. The combat in NMHIII is the best the series has ever seen, but I feel like it could have been expanded a lot more with the different katanas, combos, characters, etc.
Of course, the overworld could have used some more activities as well. Maybe some more "traditional" quests with more unique NPCs, shops, and other locals. It was a bummer that there were only a few "Adventure" visual novel quests. Those were really cool. Overall, I think the exploration and collection aspects of the game could have been refined and greatly expanded to make running around a bit more fun.
Santa Destroy and Perfect World were great overworld areas, but the rest seemed kind of bland and super empty - especially Neo Brazil. I feel like they rean out of time or something and couldn't craft all of the overworlds to be ass intricate as Santa Destroy.
I was also super bummed that more of the overworld wasn't unlocked during the game. I kept expecting to unlock the red zones and get to explore more of each overworld, but it just never happened. It was really weird.
The music, story, writing, and acting was absolutely superb. No problems there whatsoever.
I would love for NMHIII to get some sort of DLC that adds more stuff, but that probably won't happen.
Anyway. No More Heroes III was a great game. Definitly check it out if you are a No More Heroes or Suda51 fan. Consider checking it out if you are just an action game fan in-general.
