In this picture, I focused on depth of field. As you can see, the decoration in the front slightly contrasts with the lamp behind it. And both the decoration as well as the lamp contrast with the curtain in the background, which is quite blurred. If this entire image was in focus, then there wouldn’t really be any part of it that stands out. The focus adds depth to the photo. Hence, depth of field. It brings out the foreground of the photo, and makes it more interesting. It gives our eyes something to focus on, and adds emphasis to that part. It’s a very important tool in photography, and can really change the dynamic of a photograph when used.
