Now, if you’re feeling really ambitious, you can follow this link as well and give your Members of Congress a call. Well, their staff, but still!
Why, you ask? It’s simple. If no one tells them how important libraries are, or explains how certain legislation or policy could impact a library or the patrons, Members of Congress may not have a reason to consider the library perspective. It may never even come to mind!
This week, take a second to send an email to your Members of Congress. Share stories with them about your library, discuss one of these legislative issues, and educate them about the importance of libraries to a community.
