the first time Ponyboy and Darry âfought againâ post book, things were about to get heated but they looked at Sodapop and remembered there promised. then they looked at each other and realized that they both needed to understand were there coming from. at that moment not fighting with each other wasnât just a promise to Sodapop but a promise to each other that the two would always love each other and no fighting could ever change that.

i love thinking about their dynamics post book, especially with soda, like you know theyâre both so mindful of soda and his emotions after his breakdown, and then jsut setting aside their differences for ola moment so soda doesnât get upset is so in character imoâespecially if theyâre both thinking about each other and how their words can affect each other
