you see this photo well i saw it and i had the best head canon i’ve had in awhile.
It was Saturday nobody had anything to do so the gang did what they always did and they went to the park to have some fun. soc cheerleaders came around with there boyfriends in their fancy cars just to make fun of them (of course 🙄). As soon as they left Two-bit had the best idea… the Curtis Pyramid. Soda of course was all in on it Ponyboy thought it was stupid but would still do it and Darry just wanted to show how strong he was to the rest of the gang. they did the stunt almost better than those snobbish cheerleaders. The gang was in awe (except Johnny because he was scared that they were gonna fall on him🥹) Dally saw this as and opportunity he got behind the Curtis brothers and rammed into Darry causing all of them to fall onto each other. the brothers would’ve chased Dally down but they were stuck on each other. everyone was cracking up even Johnny. but of course the three of them got up and long story short Dally was all buying them food from the gas station for awhile 😝

johnny was prolly encouraging it lol, he was just sitting back and watching this all unfold because he knows either dally or two bit is gonna try something, and he’s right—they’re so silly and stupid i love them so much lol—it was probably pony’s stupid idea anyhow because he felt like doing “something reckless” and like you said, darry leaps at the ppportunity to show off his physique, and soda will do anything you tell him to do if it sounds like fun
