9/11/2001 What were you doing that horrible morning? If you were alive for it, then you know. We all do. It’s a moment in time that will never be forgotten. It is our generations Pearl Harbor, Fort Sumter, or Boston Massacre. As those 3 infamous occurrences in history are remembered as turning points in this nation, so shall 9/11. The results of 9/11 on our country are still in debate. Has it made us stronger or weaker, safer or less free? I don’t know, but that’s to be debated at another time. What has bothered me for quite sometime are the conspiracy theories about 9/11. Like there was some deep plot that the government was up to. Like the people on flight 93 didn’t make contact to the outside world and explain what happened. It’s very simple. 9/11 was caused by a group of people that had 1 initiative; destroy the United States. They almost succeeded… You can sit at your chair and think about all the theories you want but the simple fact is, they didn’t just attack New York and the Pentagon, they attacked the United States of America. That includes any American in our out of this country. If you are reading this, then you were fortunate enough to survive that day. This is why it is important enough to remember 9/11 they way it was. And only the way it was. Honor the people that were on those planes that day. Honor the people that died in the towers, in the pentagon and in the surrounding streets. Honor the brave Firefighters, Police officers, Paramedics and Emergency Response workers that were brave and crazy enough to run into what was almost certain death to save people they didn’t know. Remember the horror of that day. The unstable feeling of not knowing what was coming next. Never take it for granted, our freedom never should be. This is still the best country to live in the world. Sure, we have or problems and differences. But that’s part of the melting pot. It’s the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE!
