I follow nina pool on tiktok and she gives such great and affordable skin care advice!
I went and spent way too much money last year to a skin clinic to get laser and expensive fancy products for my cystic acne, and my skin was cleared up for a YEAR.
But that was too expensive for me to upkeep and i also wanted to make my skin SOFT not just CLEAR. I ran out of pricy product and went to one of nina pool's suggestions.
Im now double cleansing with an oil cleanser and then a gentle face wash. My skin is so soft and supple. It got rid of all the tiny bumps i get on my chin and lips, no blackheads in creases of my nose or T zone. Love it
1 caveat: i have gotten a couple deep cystic pimples like i used to get before i went to the expensive skin clinic.
The clinic had me on a witch hazel toner, Benzoyl peroxide over night cream, and a mystery gel moisturizer that has a bunch of seed oils I've never heard of and can't find a product dupe for!
Ive been using clean and clear Benzoyl peroxide, and a dollar tree witch hazel but im still having issues and honestly its probably the oil cleanser
But it makes my forehead and eye wrinkles SO SOFT i dont want to stop!
I have found PRID and a bandaid gets rid of the cysts overnight but then i have to wait for the redness to heal. Which probably means i need a good dark spot corrector that doesn't break me out more or interact with my other products. And i still dont have a good moisturizer thats light enough i dont break out but also doesnt pill under makeup and can last all day. Ive tried the ordinary's Hylaronic acid and it breaks me out. Ive tried retinoids but they make my whole face turn RED and my eyes dry and itchy.
