An explanation:
Sober me has realized drunk me forgot to explain exactly what was going on in that picture I posted a couple nights ago. Allow me to explain: Those of you that know me IRL may know I work at a television station. Well as a result, a newscast I directed was nominated for an Emmy...yes, a similar one to the big show full of famous people except this is for smaller (regional) markets (as opposed to national). Thus I, along with other coworkers, went to the ceremony for this award (we were nominated for 3, winning none). There were appetizers, a free cocktail bar for an hour, and dinner/dessert. Let me tell you: never in my life have I felt more out of place, yet at home. I never wear suits, yet there I was in one and actually felt good in it! (Hence the picture.) I was surrounded by strangers, yet had some of my favorite people nearby. My job doesn't pay worth a damn, and the hours aren't great, but holy shit so I love my job and the people I work with. The opportunities I've had are ten-fold anything I could have imagined at my tiny, worthless high school.
