Did you know that Nightsight wanted to tag with Drill to Elba? They arrived together, but at the last second, Drill gave her the controls and told her to fly out because he wanted her to take care of his ship. Drill was the only one who had the offer, but Nightsight tagged along willingly, only to be told to stay behind.
If she had joined, it wouldn’t have been a super major change for Drill, but Nightsight would’ve died there one way or another. Either in the pit, a hunting party, or a ritual execution… it would’ve been worse for her if they discovered she was once an Autobot. Not to mention, if she was alive until the wreckers, then she would’ve died after overlord ordered to kill all of the prisoners indiscriminately. She’s not an Autobot, but wasn’t a Decepticon either, so she wouldn’t be spared. Drill made the right choice that day, whether his old friend believes it or not.
