Everything is DARK , but there’s something echoing in the distance . A voice && a familiar one , it’s calling - SHOUTING , but he can’t quite get a grip on it . Like fingers slipping from the cliff edge , he’s slowly descending to somewhere that he knows he’ll NEVER be able to get back from . He doesn’t know WHAT happened exactly - but it’s obviously something bad - a feeling of impending danger lingering into unconsciousness .
The voice calls again , LOUDER . Dick digs his nails in - pulls himself towards the male tone . As he drags himself , one thing becomes clear . He DOES know the voice . TIM . The boy that had watched him with awe in his eyes - the guy DICK had watched with the same awe as he grew into the bravest - smartest man he knew .
“ ugh - “
Eyelids flutter . Dick can FEEL his body now - a sure sign that he’s coming around . Safety . Something hurts - something he can’t put a finger on yet , but that doesn’t MATTER , not when he’s so close . A gasp && Dick’s eyes finally fly open . He sits halfway up before he can’t go any further . Eyes wide they seek out the younger male .
“ Tim ? TIM ?? “
Chaos. It was the only thing Tim could think to describe the scene that he found himself in. One second they were all standing around making small talk in the extravagantly decorated ballroom, and the next second they were running for their lives as a huge group of masked people came in and attacked.
Something had to be wrong with him. The first thought that came into his head was that this would make for a good excuse to skip the next gala. All night he was itching to be out on the rooftops of Gotham. But he didn’t want this.
Gotham’s elite were screaming as they ran away from the masked maniacs, Tim tried his best to save as many as he could while toning down his skills to keep his identity safe. It wasn’t long before he was overwhelmed. His hands were promptly duct taped behind his back and he was dragged to a van in the back. Coincidentally Dick was here too, knocked out.
“Wake up! Please wake up.”
Tim did his best to sound as helpless as one would expect a young son of a billionaire to be. Putting on something of a show for these psychos. There was only one guarding the car, they must be going back for more people. How they decided who to kill and who to spare was beyond Tim.
By the time Dick shot up, Tim had his hands unbound. “Dick. Thank goodness. There are some crazy psychos out there killing people.” He held up a finger and pointed towards where the person guarding the van was to tell him there was only one person over there as far as he knew.
