Swallowing thickly, Modeus gave a few sharp raps on the front door, followed by a ring of the doorbell upon remembering its existence a few beats later. The demon waited in silence, spreading his senses to count the souls residing within and judging the distance before one came to greet him. A gloved digit hooked around his dress collar to give a nervous tug. The notion of being nervous over something so small was ridiculous, yet here he was. Standing outside dressed to the nines, bangs slicked back, an arm balancing various Valentines Day themed gifts behind him.
This was how the customs for the holiday went, right? Pouring countless hours of thought into buying symbolic heart-shaped gifts for the individuals one “loved”? Giving them sweets and toys and performing romantic gestures to show one’s appreciation for them? It all seemed so straightforward in theory, but the various advertisements and other publishings surrounding the subject always seemed to stress that the ritual was much more complicated than it appeared. Was he doing this wrong?
The click of a latch was heard, and true to what he understood from his “research”, Modeus thrust the bouquet of gladiolus flowers in the face of whoever answered the door, partially obscuring his own face. “Happy Valentines Day, Lance.”

send “open to suggestions” for me to give you 3-5 plot ideas that i think could work for our muses
1. Assimilation: If Modeus wants to pass as a human, he’s going to have to learn more about modern culture! And who better to help him than Lance? Vehicles, slang, and gods forbid - technology, its a huge difference for someone who used to complain about the use of chariots. Lance could even go so far as to get Modey a phone - hopefully one that won’t crack easily if the devil squeezes a bit too hard.
2. Sidekick: Speaking of modern culture, Lance never did help Modey finalize a costume design. As silly as it is for a shapeshifting demon to want a mask, he still wants to help Nighthawk out on patrol without looking too similar to his normal human disguise. Though depending on what their mission for the night calls for, Modey may have trouble keeping the bad guys alive long enough to be arrested.
3. Trail of Blood: The demon Wrath that inhabits Lance may be pacified while Modeus is around, but the general gets called away on missions often. After a particularly long few months without a word, Modey comes back to the human world to find that Wrath has been itching to have a little fun. But can Modey track down Wrath before the body count gets too high?
"Who did this?" whoever it was, couldn't have gotten far - it had to have just happened for Wally to already look like that.
