Four + 1 Scenes and Observations
I. Boyd & Colt (4x01) Boyd Crowder is definitely the type of person to be jailed multiple times while deployed in a warzone. He is also the type of person to become good friends with the man responsible for arresting him.
II. Nicky Augustine in the Limo (4x13) He wasn't the most psychotic or evil but I loved the contempt Nicky held for everyone around him. His barefaced assessment of both Raylan's and his own situation in Ghosts is amazing.
III. Boyd and Raylan on the Staircase (4x11) The marshal and the criminal negotiating around the bend of their Alma Mater. One has the high ground while one tempts him downwards.
IV. Hunting at Night (6x12) Raylan and Boyd take pot-shots at each other in the dark, both literally and verbally, hoping to hurt each other as much as possible.
...and finally I find it interesting that Boyd - one of the most Harlan-identified characters on the show - never actually lives in his own space there. He squats in a church in the pilot, goes to prison, makes trips to his "Daddy's cabin" (even after Bo dies), lives at Ava's house (and still refers to it as hers well into Season 6) and eventually takes over Johnny's bar which is literally named "Johnny's".
