My mother bought a kids book called Froggy Girl,
Which is a not even remotely veiled anti-trans allegory, where a girl wants to be a frog and tries to be one. Everyone (except the frogs) is really supportive of her, giving her different clothes, food, and a flag that’s the trans flag but green, so she can’t admit she was wrong. She winds up talking to a wise turtle and he tells her that she can’t escape who she is, so she goes back to being a girl.
It’s badly written, incredibly obvious propaganda, and it doesn’t even make sense. If it’s okay for her to “become a frog” why wouldn’t her parents be okay with her “becoming a human” again? Because that doesn’t fit the author’s narrative that parents are forcing their children to be transgender.
Reading this book to my niece really hurt, because while I already know how my mom feels about me and trans people as a whole, I didn’t know she would be trying to turn my niblings against me already. At the very least, “protecting” them from becoming like me. I know she doesn’t understand me, but it’s hard to see her trying to act like she understands me better than I do. Anyway, don’t buy this book and stop making propaganda for children.
I've just realised I have a bunch of doodles left from the last year's inktober, moomin-themed mostly: a young Joxter, Groke spooking Sniff, Little My with some creep, and a nibling from the original comic strips
I got told to draw Ford and Mabel bonding. They're adorable.
