Ryan Cooper's Extended Story - Prologue

The Heck Is This???
So, when I decided a bit ago that I was gonna beat the BlackBox era of NFS again, I decided, "Hey, lets make this more interesting". Lately i've been drawing images of the games I played, and decided to do that for this series, and to write a paragraph or two interconnecting each game, following the common theory that Ryan Cooper, protagonist of ProStreet, is the main character of all 5 games.
But, as my NFS came back in force, and I started rotating the characters in my head and played with them as dolls, yeeee this turned into a full on fanfic. With drawings. And game reviews. And furries of course.
This is gonna be kinda weird, but i hope that it feels as a passion project, a bit rough around the corners. Kinda like BlackBox NFS games in general.
Also, I really need an scanner.
Prologue
He looked at his ride and he saw… he decided to go for "potential", it was the only good thing to say. The 5yo used Dodge Neon was a birthday gift from his parents. It came begging for some maintenance, with a stolen stereo, a mismatched rim, and an unpainted hood and front bumper from some kind of fender bender.
It took some bit of elbow grease and all the money he had managed to earn as a teen at the gas station, but he managed to get the 4 cylinder engine to peak power, and even managed to paint the the whole car a beautiful vibrant green, and find a spare rim to have a have a full set of stock wheels.
It was… ok, it was still far from perfect, he still needed extra money to buy some better parts and some stickers and vinyls to customize it. Hell, some neons would really make this car pop!
His obsession with cars dated all the way back to his hometown in West Virginia. Ryan's parents where never around, and he spent his time watching races on TV, or on old VHS tapes his dad had recorded. He even bothered the towns mechanic to teach him to fix cars. The night he stole his dads Escort to do some drag races with his friends still felt like the best night of his life. That was the night he decided he was going to become a famous professional racer.
Unfortunately, he couldn't find a good opportunity to actually participate in any real race. Without wheels, he couldn't get in any rooky leagues, and without bank he couldnt get into any professional driving school. But, there was another option. In Bayview, Ventura, Palm City and many more big cities, illegal racing circles have been forming. He read all about those in his magazine. People would trick up their rides and bet at each other in different kinds of races all around. There was good money in them, if you drive well enough.
But the important part, the reason he was interested… The U.R.L., The Underground Racing League. A non sanctioned, semi illegal racing league. Invitation only, but with no real requirements, and with most people driving cars that they tricked, not real racing car, it was actually achievable. It was no secret that drivers there where sponsored by manufacturers and that many racers have made the jump from the URL into real racing. This was Ryan's goal, this was his opportunity.
Unfortunately, he stumbled at his first step. He failed to get a scholarship at Bayview. His only opportunity to move from the middle of nowhere to a big city, it would be Olympic's U. There he would have to prove himself and maybe get invited to the URL.
A chime got him out of his memories. He just got an SMS from that weird chic that he me met the other day.
hey kid! u got wheels? we r meetin 2nite @ 9. queen & 1st -Sam
He was nobody, but soon, everyone would know the name of Ryan Cooper.
