I have reacted to a lot of Russian propaganda on this channel, which I think is only fair considering I grew up and lived my whole life in Russia. However, some people, especially Z Westerners, think differently. In their opinion I'm a hypocrite because I talk about Russian propaganda and TV without ever mentioning "Western propaganda". Well, what is Western propaganda? What is Russian propaganda? How are they different? And why do I mention one of them more? Let's talk about it.

I recently discovered this guy’s channel and his latest videos especially have given me a much-needed counterbalance to the appalling news from Ukraine every day that have been filling me with a righteous wrath. It would be very easy to hate the entire Russian nation and blame every single Russian, but... Totalitarian regimes are a horrible tragedy to everyone except those who directly profit from them. Entire generations have lost their future to brainwashing, poverty, paranoia and a vicious circle of hate. Young, bright, worldly Russians like Roman, who only wanted to live normal lives in freedom and peace like everyone else now have their futures stolen from them.

I, too, used to think Russia was getting better. And then all those hopes not only slowly dwindled but crashed and burned in a spectacular manner in February 2022. Just because some old asshole is getting soft in the head. Or certain other areas.
