I think he’s kind of like “people can be… nice to eachother????” and ofc it doesn’t come to his mind that HE might do something nice for another person but I think he starts trying to like set up situations where Heavy can do something for him. like when they’re walking anywhere taking the route with the most possible doors so Heavy can hold all of them open for him kinda thing. Heavy doesn’t mind it I think he just likes hanging out tbh

So, for some perspective, if a trained professional who isn’t familiar with EDS is capable of causing immense harm and pain to me with something as simple as deep tissue massage, imagine the amount of damage someone who has zero experience would be capable of inflicting without realizing it.

So yea, MPM could tell my husband which parts of my body to work on, but that’s no guarantee he’d be able to do it either effectively or safely because it takes training to know how to do these things safely, and it takes even more training and years of experience to know how to work with someone who has EDS. Magic Physio Man isn’t even comfortable working with me on some areas anymore because we now know what could happen if my neck extends a little too far or he prods a little too deep. 

Which is not to say ETD isn’t helping me, it’s merely that he is limited and isn’t able to replace the skills of someone who has spent decades learning how to handle bodies from a medical perspective, and nor should he try to.
