Last weekend I travelled interstate to #NSW to teach a lovely group of ladies how to make corsets. It was such a great weekend, and I am so proud of how well all my fabulous #corsetmaking students did making their #underbust #corsets. Here's a little clip of one of my recent Beginners Corsetry students hard at work sewing perfect boning channels. I always encourage my students to stitch carefully and slowly and the result is always wonderful. There's a lot to be said for taking your time to get each stitch as perfect as possible as the overall effect once you're done is noticeable when compared to rushed sewing. My philosophy when teaching is to nurture each individual student and help them find ways to achieve great results that make sense to them. We all think and process information differently and it wouldnt be fair to them to assume that "one way" will be right for them. There are many ways to make beautiful, curvy and strong corsets and I never pretend that mine is the only way.
