anyone who says that new order is "better" than joy division doesn't understand that they're an evolution of joy division because they sort of had to evolve since, you know, ian fucking died.

people being angry that welshcakes were served at wimbledon speaks very loudly of these people's xenophobia because their reaction was (as paraphrased from the article i just read) "what is this welsh rubbish?!" ... i mean it's not exactly the Correct place to have one (traditionally they're more associated w funerals - at least in my slate country background, if not poor/working class life) but to react as if a welshcake (which is a flat scone made on a frying pan and served with a smear of butter instead of a Fuckload of cream btw) was the world coming to its end says quite a lot.
