Fletcher knew it wasn’t going to be easy trying to find a time to talk to Newt in the aftermath of the explosion. The other Ravenclaw had hardly been alone since the event happened, not to mention Fletcher had hardly been able to sleep with Olivia in the hospital let alone hold a decent conversation with a kid who kinda hated him.  But despite being exhausted and not exactly all smiles and rainbows when he opened the door to the male dormitory Fletcher knew that if he didn’t take this chance alone with Newt he would regret it. 

“We need to talk” He announced placing his pack on his bed before turning to look at the other boy. 

Standing there looking at a small broken sneakascope Fletcher had to resist the urge to sigh. Today’s picking we meager and less than creative, with an old muggle radio over there, a pile of carburetors over there. But Feltcher figured you couldn’t win them all. Picking up the small basket he’d filled with his purchases Fletcher went to the counter to pay Martin, his good buddy old pal. His mother and the rest of the clan probably waiting at Fortescues for him so he needed to hurry.

But that was when he heard it. Magically blasted throughout the streets.

Please take cover. Do not go outside. Remain in a safe area, until the all clear is given. This is not a drill.

And suddenly his heart started to race.
