As cute as this is and as much as I find the idea of Alrith settling down very cute, Alrith + Eyvind isn’t really a fantastic concept. Alrith has been in service to his Baron, Lord Robert, as a nursemaid for his entire adulthood - while it’s possible for him to step down and have that duty taken by another sim for awhile, Eyvind is also the only doctor in the Marshlands, and the possibility he will also be hired as the Archlamp’s doctor is.. high, because he’s the only option. If Alrith does settle down he won’t be moving to the marshlands either despite that being where his family actually lives unless they NEED him.. multiple generations of his descendants being Madgrove nursemaids is quite the attractive idea. Alrith’s always been a romance sim and I’d like for him to sleep with at least 10 people and get halfway to that lifetime want before having him complicate the situation with a husband. As I’m inspired by @snarkysims, I’m not locking it because he’s also got a fear of marrying Eyvind, but if he rolls it again without an associated fear I’ll lock it then and see how it goes.
I have serious baby fever lately, and that’s because all the new babies are so cute.
This is Hizrenten - one of Telly’s two children. She was born near the end of my queue and actually exists there. She takes after her father, who I left behind in the old neighborhood. I haven’t decided if he really actually exists yet in this one, unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) for her. His family is really cute, so I might end up convinced to do it after all, including the dreaded space baby, but if I do I’ll be changing their surname to something that fits the fairy-loving-science-man and evil witch couple. Something really weird.
The marshlands themselves are starting to become adequately populated, but I’m not finished yet: I still have three households to go and some community lots to stuff it up even more. I need to recreate Telly, one of the four fish sisters, to live outside the city walls in the squareish area. She’s going to be a (self-employed) prostitute who will not run a brothel or be involved in one, and she’ll live here with her two children. I’ll be using prostitute tokens and medieval coins to handle this, of course, as well as ‘watch kids enabled’ for community lot services. Telly was Madgrove’s most promiscuous sim, and she’s a good mother too, so this is a fitting role for her. And then I need the adventurer’s camp, which is where adventurer’s will be camping outside the village; consisting of the third fish sister Dabridel, her sweetheart Al’Terez and their child Erggle (they’re an unusual but cute couple), and their companion Nrytallian. It will actually be a small apartment lot, not a house, so that they can ‘adventure’ properly. And of course I need ruling hands - who better than the Archlamp family? Instead of running the college, they now own a whole village, which is cool and good. There’s a few community lots as well - a village market, a community well, the Tjoren’s tavern, and maybe a village school offering free low-income skilling. I don’t think I’ll have a legitimate school or orphanage here, so any babies born here can’t be abandoned and no one can learn to read without being sent outside the village. I thought about establishing a church, but church gameplay is REALLY boring. This could be changed if someone with the right profession moves in and establishes one, or a sim is devoted enough to the cause to offer unwanted children a better start on life (possibly Telly when she’s an elder?)
look at these two idiot husbands. Roy apparently had to sample the ugly townie man’s genetics, and I had to throw a shotgun marriage. I was afraid he’d have a miscarriage because the wedding itself was a drain on his motives, but he didn’t, and they had a cute little baby boy named Hemming, who hopefully didn’t inherit the ugly gene.
Hopefully.

A gathering of sims in the Svaren’s ‘medicine’ garden (full of dangerous herbs, not medicine, including 2 varieties of nightshade); some of them are new faces.. We have Heroua Pawold, who manages cattle just like she always has. Then we have Lamorak Engerrand, a townie the game generated at random, who’s very gay and very flirtatious despite being an elder; everyone, including Eyvind, seems to be into him. He lives in Newcove, in an apartment complex meant to house large groups of traveling sims. My fiance insisted that he requires a sword on his back. Ivuxara Fester is the local Witch - but she’s actually a necromancer, not a witch. She fends off evil spirits before they can reach the village, but doesn’t live inside the walls as she isn’t really welcome there. If she leaves, the idea is that the spirits will happily spread into the village itself. I’m handling necromancy in such a way that she is able to create (some) zombies to serve as servants, or friends, or whatever she feels like really. The topless woman is Sambridhi Talavalakar, one of the three sisters who runs Newcove’s brothel, and why she wandered all the way out to the Marshlands I don’t know. It certainly not to sell tokens, because that’s her sister’s job. Standing next to her is Inga Loren, who lives in town, so it makes sense she’s come to visit. Inga and her sister Linda are gatherers, skilled at cultivating berries, and they have their own large garden of tastier fruits. And sitting down is of course Tane Rahryst, because he’s a lazy butt.
This is one of the reasons why I can’t play without ACR. Frictiua became a teen, as expected, and Siswe (the other teen here) has been spending a lot of time at their little outdoor market without purchasing anything because his family is completely broke. He’s also newly married with child. Frictiua decided he was too cute to pass up on anyway and shared her first kiss with him, autonomously, and the arm leaping happened directly after. He is so unavailable. He’s married. He lives in a completely different city ruled by a completely different lord. He’s terribly broke. His profession isn’t even considered a valid profession in the marshlands. ACR, why. This is the worst possible couple, but at least they’re cute.
(Now dis is what I’m talkin’ bout’ when i tak aboot dem partments) This is my favorite ‘apartment’ lot so far. They’re actual houses, built for miners, large ones with a good deal of internal space that can support a household assuming they can make the rent - approximately 3 bedrooms 1 bath, plus a kitchen, two living rooms, and an attic (I love attics lately, but still have no idea how to make basements). The mine and rocks blend in nicely with the hood deco rocks, making it look natural. The sims living here can obviously mine for extra income, though I don’t have anything in mind when it comes to what the individual items do. It might be necessary to avoid being kicked out, considering the rent is high and they have to pay head tax on top of rent, and entry-level positions for the most part pay pennies. But, with the ability to raise a family and gain stability here, it should still be an attractive place to live.
