Sewing Wips
I've been trying to make some more basics this year, and also challenge myself to sew with some of the trims I've acquired. These are two slips based on a vintage Simplicity pattern 9859. It's a pattern from the 80s, and I can't resist vintage lingerie or sleepwear patterns. I was hoping that they might also be useful for layering under some of my summer clothes to make them more wearable in the winter.
The blue slip is a simple cotton voile from Merchant and Mills (I love this blue color), with some trim from the MaryNotMartha etsy shop. The black is a silk cotton voile from Mood. I just need to put some of the finishing touches on these, and they will be ready to wear :)
Sewing project planning: Merchant & Mills September Coat
I planning to make a September coat, and I have some 8 oz medium blue denim (Robert Kauffman that I bought from my local fabric store) that I think would look great. Here is the coat:
And here are some photos I've been collecting as inspiration:
The pattern has horizontal welt pockets, but I like the idea of making a sleek coat with horizontal pockets, or doing something a little wild with patch pockets.
