I find it so bizarre that babies will sleep for hours on end during the day time but it's the night they wake up at short intervals. It's almost like nature is trying to torture the parents lmao 💀

Tox my baby is 14 months and has yet to sleep through the night. I’m VERY tired!

"But parents have to burp them and carry them from place to place, right?" Lol. Yes but anon is right. You have to secure their necks. Definitely shouldn't be trying to sit them up and it would be kind of hard to hold a baby that young and be playing on your laptop or whatever at the same time.

Idk why that other anon is so adamant about the sitting-up baby thing but you’re both right; as a mom of 3 & one with developmental delays I know all the milestone charts by heart lol. Babies can’t support their own heads for a few months, but we do often hold them upright for carrying/burping—it’s usually done with baby’s face toward you because that way your body supports their head. Their car seats are angled at a recline for the same reason. Extra-little babies in a car seat can still have problems breathing from being too upright—nurses at the hospital do a “car seat test” before they will discharge newborns under 6 pounds, where they monitor the baby for 15 min in the car seat to make sure their breathing is unhindered.
