Old Dominion - Memory Lane
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the latest album from Country Music Group Old Dominion. The new album is titled "Memory lane" was released Friday October 6th, 2023. There are 18 tracks on this new CD, but before we dive into the new project. Let's talk about the career of Old Dominion for a bit first.
Some of the biggest hits from Old Dominion are songs like "One man band", "I was on a boat that day", & "Written in the sand". And you may also remember such hits as well like "Break up with him", "Song for another time", & "Make it sweet". Old Dominion has even had success on my weekly chart MSR (Midnight Star Report) with 3 number hits. My MSR combines CMT (Country Music Television), the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts, & even myself. The list used to include GAC (Great American Country) until the list officially retired at the end of 2018. But before we dive too far off track, let's jump back to the new project next.
The title track is "Memory lane" and the song did reach the top of the CMT (Country Music Television) Hot 20 Country Music Video Countdown, & also check out songs like "A million things", & their new single with Megan Moroney "Can't break up now". Other songs you should check out as well are "Some horses", "Beautiful sky", & "Love drunk and happy". And in my opinion, the stand out tracks are "How good is that", "Freedom like you" & 2 versions of "Ain't got a worry" including one that has Blake Shelton on it. Old Dominion had a hand in co-writing 17 out of the 18 tracks. Here is the track list up next.
Track list.
Stay drunk.
A million things.
Memory lane.
Different about you.
Can't break up now (With Megan Moroney).
I should have married you.
Both sides of the bed.
How good is that.
Some horses.
Easy to miss.
Sleep without drinking.
Beautiful sky.
Love drunk and happy.
Ain't got a worry.
Easier said with rum.
Hot again.
Freedom like you.
Ain't got a worry (Featuring Blake Shelton).
And that's a wrap for the track list. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this new album a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is kind of weird to have 2 versions of the same song on the album.. Maybe spread them out more in the track listing. But to have 18 tracks on a single disc is huge. That is sometimes what you find people's double albums. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. See ya all next time!

Hi. Hello. I want to let you all know that… I have a microchapbook coming out!!! “Finally: The Mixtape” is an audio microchapbook that touches on identity, grief, family, and existing through some of my favorite pop songs. It comes as a CD with the microchapbook as an insert. And now it’s open for pre-order! Thank you so much to Gnashing Teeth Publishing for publishing this little microchapbook and sparking the idea to make it into a CD and shoutout to my good friend Carlos Manalo for doing the cover art.
Pre-order your copy today! Link is above the text of this post.
