Goodnight...

The beach was so beautiful, the water was such a light blue and it got darker as one looked out over it. The sand was almost white and appeared so clean and perfect. Lexi had squealed in excitement when they arrived and that morning she had basically pulled Kol out of bed to get down to the beach. They had built sand castles, searched for sea shells, and played in the waves. Lexi had finally convinced Kol to come out a little deeper for awhile. When Kol had had enough Lexi told him she would be back to shore soon and she watched as his back turned to her. She dove under the water a few times, enjoying the feel of the cool water on her skin. She suddenly felt a sharp pain in her left wrist and looked down. There was blood tainting the water close by and Lexi's brow furrowed. She moved to go back to shore but she felt terrible and she was still so far out. The current kept pulling her and slowly her body began to stop responding. She was becoming paralyzed. She tried to look up and call for help but the water pulled her under and she couldn't move to the surface. Her legs and arms wouldn't work and though she tried to get herself back up to the surface nothing happened. She held her breath till her lungs burned, finally she had to breathe in and water filled her lungs, but it was a relief, slowly unconsciousness took over and the pain went away. neverxmourned

Lexi had cried herself to sleep in the unfamiliar guest bedroom. She was wearing one of Kol's shirts and she had his pillow in her grasp but tears had stained her cheeks. She knew he was probably just busy, had a lot on his mind, was helping Klaus, there were plenty of good reasons for missing their date. Still, Lexi wondered deep down in her heart if there was another girl, she knew she wasn't good enough for Kol and that haunted her often. Usually she could put it aside because she had Kol's attention but now, now she wasn't so sure. He hadn't phoned of texted her and she was afraid. Eventually she had come home alone and gone to the guest bedroom, afraid he didn't want her anymore, that she had become boring to him like she had to others before him. neverxmourned
