XD I didn’t mean to ramble on that long about it. Gotham!AUs aren’t something I thought about before. Maybe his dad did, with Scott and Melissa, but Peter didn’t make the connection right away b/c Stiles uses his mother’s maiden name or something? Or just goes by Stiles. And like he and his dad fell out of touch ages ago aside from the occasional letter since living in Gotham isn’t the best for keeping up communications with outsiders. But if Stiles visits Peter, they’d totally bump into each other at the supermarket or something, and like the (now-)Sheriff can hardly believe his son’s not just surviving he’s living and all grown up and looks happy and why is Stiles buying fruit and vegetables with Peter Hale of all people, he’s heard from Talia that her younger brother comes with his own warning label and not in any remotely good way.

And like the reunion is so awkward. It’s one thing to send a few how are you doing I’m fine not dead yet when are you finally going to leave that godforsaken city letters back and forth. It’s another entirely to meet face to face, and without any prior planning too. And Peter can put two and two together, especially since the good Sheriff is already giving him ugly looks, but Stiles catches that too, and really, his dad left him behind in Gotham to fend for himself, which yeah, Stiles was stubborn and chose to stay, but his dad gave up and left, and that’s great because it’s one less thing for Stiles to worry about, but that also means he doesn’t get a say about Stiles’ life choices anymore, especially not over the best thing to ever happen to him.

Nobody wants to get into a fight in the middle of the vegetable aisle but family dinner is so awkward. Once Talia hears, she invites the Sheriff’s family over, and apparently, the Stilinski-McCalls have adopted a second son Isaac and Stiles has never even read about this second son from his dad’s letters, this floofy-haired dude who’s obsessed with scarves and sticks to Scott like glue and scowls when Stiles and Scott exchange stilted hugs, and also, Scott and Derek do not get along for whatever reason so they spend most of their time glaring at each other over the dinner table, and the Sheriff keeps alternating between asking when Stiles is moving into Beacon Hills and other uncomfortable questions about Stiles’ life and just ugh. And everybody knows about werewolves too, and Laura makes one too many offhand snide remarks about some outsider stealing a pack member away from them, and Talia… doesn’t really bicker with Peter per se, there’s just a shitload of disapproval and underlying condescension when she picks at Peter’s life choices, and finally, Stiles just loses it, loses the control he promised he would have on his own tongue and temper, and he just rips into everybody there with enough sarcastic barbs to fill an ocean and make half the table cry.

Like, seriously, you don’t even want Peter around but you won’t let him live his own life either, you just want him under your thumb but don’t you idiots get it Peter wouldn’t be Peter anymore if he ever bowed and fit the mould you want him to; and Dad, which part of I’m never ever ever moving away from Gotham ever do you not understand, and I love Peter accept it or suck it up and mind your own business I don’t fucking care, and by the end of the dinner… well, it’s not even the end of dinner, it’s just Stiles pulling Peter to his feet and storming out the door and threatening the whole household with giving their goddamn address to Harley so she can put the fear of god in them and just. Fuck every one of you assholes, you’re poison for Peter.

And Peter’s just… dumbfounded. They’re out of the Preserve before he snaps out of this completely stunned fugue state because nobody’s ever defended him before, especially not the way Stiles did, and he ends up dragging Stiles back to their hotel room and ravishing him until early morning and they’re both worn out and completely exhausted in all the best ways, and they fall asleep wrapped up in each other.

They wake up way past noon, and only because hunger insists. Halfway through a late lunch, Alfred calls about a breakout from Arkham, and he’s really very sorry about cutting into their vacation but is it possible for them to come home a little sooner than previously planned, he’s asking because Master Bruce sure as heck isn’t going to but it’s the Joker again and everybody knows if there’s one villain who can get under Batman’s skin, it’s the Joker.

I’M GLAD YOU’RE IN THIS FANDOM! That means more h50 on my dash :D I still haven’t finished s5, but I’ll probably marathon it this weekend.

I’m used to stuff with bittersweet endings cause they’re usually the most feelsy ones. Kingsman, Claymore, Nier, the Drakengard series (tho that’s stretching it a bit because most of their endings are utter depressing nonsense). IDK I think I’m just too used to being part of fandoms in which characters die a lot. 

Reincarnation!AU, now that is a thought. Altho being the person I am, all the cycles the protagonist goes through are probably tragic ones until the final one which would be a punch in the feels halfway between “OGOD” and “Y U DO DIS”. 

I like to see my favourite characters suffer, heh. I CAN write pockets of vaguely happy things within a larger work, but I ran out of “and everyone lives happily ever after” fuel after writing loads of that for creative writing in school way back when. 

Haha, I am one of the few people in the fandom that regards happily ever afters as either hard-won or unrealistic if sacrifices need to be made. One must not simply fake a death that’s integral to the story, especially in the case of a nuclear bomb going off which will most certainly obliterate everything for miles and miles around, not to mention the people right at the center of the blast radius.

Yea, I’m no fun to be around, am I. 

It’d be good setup for PTSD!Eggsy though.
