“Here’s the spot.”
The car lurched into a park, and the engine was brought to silence. Quite a ways out in the countryside, it made Seán feel a bit nostalgic, with a light, visible breeze rustling the last few leaves off the otherwise-bare branches. The last gasps of autumn chilled his cheeks as he opened the car door. The night sky was eternally clear, not a cloud in sight, and glittering with stars.
Breathtaking.
Mark took his hand as soon as they re-joined in front of the car, sending a small flutter in Seán’s chest still. The sheer silence and loneliness of this place... really only intensified the intimacy of the moment.
Perhaps they could get away with something more here.

I didn’t want to have to do this, but I’m putting Never Empty on a Probably Long But Hopefully Still Temporary hiatus.
I have no focus or desire to write it right now. Literally the only thing my brain wants anymore is Mario stuff.
My hope is that once I sort of flesh out this other story idea, I can come back to NevEm feeling more rejuvinated. In the meantime it’s sadly just going to have to go on the mental back burner, and I’m sorry to those who were looking forward to an update soon.

And she hands him a red crayon, and of course he wants to know “what do I need a red crayon for?”

I have literally one more sentence before Ch. 25 is finished but it requires re-reading an earlier chapter and I don’t wanna >:v
Actually I might write the car scene if anyone wants it.
A friend (who likes to stay anonymous) told me to think about a scene where Mark holds his baby against his bare skin for that nice bonding contact and I told them I was going to plan that scene in my fic anyway (good frens think alike lol)
then another friend (@henrik-von-schneeplestein) told me that the F*schbach family slogan should be “the family that cries together stays together” (because I mentioned he’d probably cry over how fucking cute his baby is) and that that should be what they hang on their wall instead of the tired old “Live Laugh Love” sign lol
