Its always a great feeling when you wake up in the morning and realise you have to do a presentation the next day. So its my turn to present this week at our weekly SRNG meeting and I've decided to talk about what I've been doing for the last month, or rather what one of the papers I wrote was about.

The Tartatus framework is a threat detection and mitigation tool that primarily makes use of honeypots to detect and isolate potentially malicious host on a network. The framework is able to quarantine hosts on a network through ARP-poisoning with a little Python script I wrote to interface with Ettercap. This will scale for larger networks by rather using an upstream router and some dynamic route injection to quarantine host traffic, but for the moment good old ARP-poisoning will do.
