It's the 64th Hunger Games, and Tango and Jimmy are chosen as District 12's latest set of tributes. The fic follows Tango's POV all the way from the reaping, through the pregame, and into the arena, as he tries and fails not to get too attached to his district partner. Will their bond and the help of their mentor, Scott Smajor, finally get District 12 another winner..... or two?

After Double Life, everyone is supposed to be sent back to their home server. But Tango ends up somewhere else. Somewhere where his rancher buddy is a sheriff in a mesa, and a certain god keeps insisting he's a toy. And a god's words have impact.

- Crystals and Candy

In Season 8, Impulse gets a nice sign from someone called Charlie, requesting help making a chocolate factory. And it came with free, extremely delicious samples! Sounds good to him. This Charlie person can't be anything but trustworthy with candy like that.

- Nethered

A fan sequel to Past the Bedrock by ooFFFF. A universe-hopping Zedaph finds his way to a world where Hermits have been hurt and split apart by a strange Nether that seems set on pulling everyone in. The Nether is dangerous, the portals have beem closed, and the hermits inside have been lost... until Portaldaph makes it his mission to save them.

First of all: Tango! What a wonderful design, I have so many thoughts...how does he feel about his new form, now that he can hug his friends and more or less live his life again? Does it disturb him to be crumbling all the time and burning and just generally not-quite-him? I wonder how many things he accidentally sets on fire just by interacting with them in ways he used to but can't do anymore safely...I guess I just generally want to hear more about Nethered!Tango, if there's anything you wanted to share that you didn't get the chance to already!

At first.. he's just grateful that existence is no longer constant, burning agony. That he can hug his friends, speak properly, move properly. That he no longer burns everything he touches.

Later, after the initial reflief has worn off... he hates it. He hates the constant crumbling, sand everywhere. He hates that he cant touch water without pain. He hates having eyes of blue flame, so easily extinguished if he isnt careful around water- getting caught in the rain not only hurts, but blinds him, and he cant find his way to shelter very easily if he cant see. He'll never swim again, never use a bubblevator, never use a water bucket to break his fall. Water is everywhere, and it hurts.

He doesnt burn things with just a touch anymore, but his hair is fire, and will definitely burn things. He doesnt get to wear hats. If firetick wasnt off, he would burn down any flammable building with low ceilings, simply by standing in it. He wouldnt be able to sleep in a bed, as it would catch fire the moment his head hit the pillow. But firetick being off prevents his flames from consuming everything. He's never been more grateful for it.

And finally, a few fun facts!

- he may not burn to the touch anymore, but he is still warm. significantly warmer than a person should be, but not burning. Just warm. This makes him very good for hugs, if you can get past Sand Everywhere (and the others can)

- even the smallest parts of his new form are annoying. why did it have to be blue fire? thats not his colour! also, he wants his fabulous hair back.

- he doesnt cry regular tears anymore. thats at least somewhat good, because if he did, he would blind himself every time he cried. what are his tears now? soul sand.

- since the nethered hermits have cut off access to the nether, they've lost sources of many resources. quartz, blaze rods, ghast tears, wither skulls... soul sand would normally be included here. but technically, tango generates an infinite supply of soul sand. its just... really fucking weird, getting it this way.

- nethered takes place before decked out. decked out may not end up existing in this universe, and if it does, the dungeon is quite a bit different due to the lack of 1.16 blocks. and it definitely wouldnt include punching out soul flames. not when its creator.. kind of is one.

- yes, he can (theoretically) be used in a bubblevator. nobody would ever do that, because it would hurt him. but he does make a bubble column.

- this form only mostly sucks. it is kind of cool that he isnt hurt by fire or lava anymore. he can and will just walk through fire and not even care. he probably bathes in lava, due to the aforementioned water pain.

What did Pdaph do when he got back?

HOW do you leave a dimension like that...WHEN did he leave...you can't just drop off this collection of near-inanimate objects that used to be your friends to the sobbing other half of your alternate reality friends and then leave...how long did he stay? Where did he stay? This was really not the fun boredom-busting dimension-hopping field trip he was hoping for...did he leave before the Nethered Hermits healed, or after he knew they were going to be okay? Was there even a point where that could be known...?

Not all of these questions need concrete answers or anything, but I am thinking Very hard about Pdaph and the relationship he could have developed with that dimension's Hermits, whether for good or bad, especially Impulse. Maybe he'd even visit them sometimes, after everything is over and he's moved on... I'm very curious to know!

(But also, on a more fluffy note, I can totally see the others making him tea when the coughing gets bad)

The ash builds up in his lungs over time, slowly but surely. It's hard to breathe. He can feel the pressure of it sitting there, and when it gets to be too much, he has no choice but to cough it out. So it's mostly a time thing, physical activity can worsen it though.

It's definitely worrying. At first, they thought it was just the ash he breathed in before, just getting that out... but they slowly realize that its not a limited amount. The ash is there to stay.
