BNC Seniors Black defeated Googong Gold 49/21 on Saturday afternoon 31/07/21. Having not played for six weeks (nine for two of our players), it felt like a brand new season. Whilst BNC won, the score didn’t reflect the gameplay. It felt like a tight game, with Googong Gold determined to win with solid defence and quick accurate passing across the court. Sophie, Mackenzie, Jenny and Candice rotated around the defensive positions, creating strong combinations that shut down the oppositions options. Lots of balls were overturned, allowing BNC to gain a larger lead. Centre court consisted of Bec, Emily W, Mackenzie and Sophie who moved dynamically across the court and fed our shooters clever passes that landed them in shooting range.  Dani, Sue and Taylor rotated through the GA/GS making a powerful combination in the circle. Whilst the opposition were determined to overturn the ball with excellent eye for the ball, our shooters predominantly outplayed the defenders, utilising the wings and creating space. Shooting was on point, and where a goal was missed- our shooters were dominant in the rebound. Another excellent result for BNC Seniors Black. With only three games until finals, we remain at the top of the leaderboard undefeated. Match report for Seniors Pink thanks to @gossipsofbungendore Seniors Pink braved the freezing conditions going down to Royals 31-27 in a competitive game. Krystle and Nat started out in defence, holding the Royals shooters tight. Julie jumped into GS unexpectedly in the first quarter and landed a couple of goals before returning to GK and combining well with Nat. Chem turned the ball over a number of times in Centre and then went on to position well in the goal circle with Marita to land the goals despite the string icy wind. Mel, Belle, Lindsay and Krystle combined well in the centre third to bring the ball down the court.
