Join us for the Wicked Sweet Science Cafe presented by the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society hosted by the Cape & Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America for the 2nd Annual National Chemistry Week Comes to Cape Cod event held in conjunction with the Boy Scouts Wicked Cool Autumn Welcome. 

Hands-on experiments related to the 2014 American Chemical Society National Chemistry Week theme: Candy~The Sweet Side of Chemistry, will be facilitated by Cambridge Science Festival, Green Briar Nature Center, PID Analyzers, LLC, Paul Reibach and others.

Candy demonstration will be done by Stage Stop Candy.

The Cape & Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America presents National Chemistry Week during the Wicked Cool Autumn Welcome together with the Northeastern Local Section of the American Chemical Society. The combination of the Boy Scouts Wicked Cool event and National Chemistry Week Comes to Cape Cod dubbed The Wicked Cool Science Cafe debuted in 2013 and earned the Northeastern Local Section of the American Chemical Society and the Environmental Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society a Chemluminary Award for the effort at the Fall National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Francisco, CA on Tuesday August 12, 2014.

 STEM Journey: Space Lab to Zero G!

Astronauts Dr. Byron Lichtenberg and Capt. Daniel Burbank will be the featured presenters as Cape Cod & Islands Council presents: “STEM Journey: Space Lab to Zero G!”, on Saturday, March 29, at Cape Cod Community College.

Middle and high school age students will have a unique forum to explore the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

The program will begin at 10:00 AM for Boy Scouts who wish to work on either Space Exploration or Chemistry merit badge.  Pre-registration is required!

The public is invited to participate in the science café and keynote presentations beginning at 12 noon and continuing until 4:00 PM.

The science café will feature interactive exhibits and demonstration by Cambridge Science on the Street, Suffolk University, iRobot, the American Chemical Society, Cape Light Compact and others.  A special feature will be an edutarium (indoor planetarium) provided by Sky Connection and sponsored by Cape Cod Community College.
