Not only is this song sung in french, but it follows the kind of vibe that Marie would find herself getting lost in while singing. Not to mention that between Marie and Furina, they both share the kind of 'destined fate' that would cause a great (and unfortunate) change in their history. Coupled with the involvement of one of the few they hold dear in their hearts, it holds the kind of bittersweetness that Marie would embrace if it means that her loved one(s) can venture onward without worry while accepting the fate that had been destined for her.

I already hc with Lime's Furina that Marie is very much besties with her, so that's also an influence for her to choose this over anything else! The song in french is simply a wonderful bonus for them <:
