might be kinda niche but could you review the corrupted faerie designs from neoquest ii?
Disclaimer that I know nothing about Neoquest II, but I'll do my best:
Water: I like how these closely resemble the Drenched, which were those "sirens" in the Curse of Maraqua. There's definitely no lore connections there seeing as this is a video game and also the contexts are completely different, but it's neat regardless.
The design itself has fairly standard water faerie features, but they gain fins on their arms (always a cool feature in mermaids), spins along their tails, and, most interestingly, two hooked claws on their thumbs. All of the corrupted faeries have them, but they're more prominent here and frankly, they look cool.
Air: For some reason all of the corrupted faeries have bat wings, which I guess is there to make them look more like dark faeries (which don't have a corrupted form). I like the overall look, but the random bits of purple here really make this read as more of a dark faerie to me than the intended element of air. Not helped by the choice of bright blue for the dress, which looks more water-faerie adjacent than air. I do like the torn dress and frizzy hair though.
Earth: Earth faeries are similar to air, but they have a much better palette of brown and green that helps them read as their element better. I like the hair streaks and the long boots; not a ton to say beyond that.
Fire: Fire faeries are the only element to not have bat wings for some reason (not counting water, who don't have wings). While this does make them read clearly as their element, it also makes them look a bit too normal; this kind of just looks like a normal fire faerie who's having a really bad day, as they just have a few holes in their wings/clothes and really nothing else. The grey wing border is interesting and contrasts nicely with the red outlines, but I'm also not sure why it's grey as none of the other faeries have that going on.
Light: Corrupted light faeries have a similar problem to air, in that they look more like dark faeries than their intended element. The yellow color is kept, and I like that it's desaturated down to a mustard color, but beyond that there's just not much here that makes this read as a light faerie specifically. I do love the pose here though.
