Final Season of ‘Orphan Black’ Set to Premiere [Video]

BBC America’s original series “Orphan Black” is returning for its final season. It is set to air on June 10, 2017, at 10/9 p.m. CT. After a year-long hiatus, fans are anxious to see what is in store for Tatiana Maslany.

Once upon a time, years before we came to the city that's Not Officially Toronto But Come On, It's Toronto, a woman had two children. As a fugitive from a dangerous secret organization, she had to give them up. One, she decided, to the church, and one to the state. This is the origin story for the two primary protagonists of Orphan Black. Sarah Manning went into foster care, while her sestra Helena went to an orphanage run by nuns in Ukraine.

Helena gets indoctrinated into the Proletheans, an ambiguously Christian sect that serves as one of the major antagonists in the series. The religious motifs around the Proletheans make them terrifying, both with Helena as their assassin and as their prisoner. However, the show misses an opportunity to really dig into the theology of the Proletheans and doesn't truly engage with any number of religious objections to the biotechnology the show presents as being in our immediate future. 

Phew. Yesterday was a big day again for Clone Club. First the fan art poster contest was announced, which let me just say I am sooo excited to see everyone’s work! I always am, but even more so now! I’m gonna try my best to repost all of the pieces I come across. And I know it’s only eligible for people in the US, but please submit your work anyway! Everyone over at OB and BBC America want to see your stuff. It’s just legal blah blah blah that they can’t get around. So please post post post! 

Anyway, I digress. It was also a big day yesterday because some new OB GIFS dropped! 1. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love me some gifs, and 2. OMG WTF is up with dat worm doe!? 

That worm is being awfully cheeky. Ugh. I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself. 

Here are some of my thoughts:

•My guess it’s the same type of worm that was in Dr. Nealon cheek. Maybe it was put in there when they did those tests on Sarah way back when when they thought she was Beth. I mean they left an electrode behind after all. Could have been because they were distracted trying to stick a worm in her face.

•What is the purpose of the worm? To track? To attack? Both? My guess is both. To track the host and if something, “goes wrong” it can be turned on to attack. 

•I found this tweet:

The part where it says, “paramedics are bad” makes me believe that whatever happened that required them to call the paramedics that it wasn’t actually the paramedics at all but in fact the neolutionists playing the part of one and that’s when the worm was implanted. Because lets be real, if they put that worm in her back from that test in S1 it’s seems kind of unlikely that Sarah wouldn’t notice it until right now. Or maybe that’s exactly what they want us to believe. I DON’T PUT ANYTHING PAST THIS SHOW!  

•All signs are still pointing to Delphine being alive. Duh. @dark-delphine has had some really solid points on this matter. 

•Poor Sarah. She probably could use a Xanax. Or she just needs to go back and hang out with Kira in Iceland…probably forever.
