That's picture of formal attire Lithmael is superb! Does she tend to attend Mereth-nuin-Giliath a lot in Mirkwood?
Thank you! She cleans up pretty well if she can just get all that ash and soot off of her. And you are quite right that the formal gown is for the celebrations at Mirkwood rather than for those held in Gondolin. The Gondolindrim would celebrate daily the rising of the Sun in Tumladen - called the Tarnin Austa - and Lithmael, not fond of the lights of neither the Sun nor the Moon would never participate. She also tended not to get along much with most of the Elves there. In Mirkwood, however, she feels much more at home with more, for lack of a better phrase, "down-to-earth" people. The Mereth-nuin-Giliath is also a feast for the starlight which, to one of the Avari, is a much more sacred and pure light for a people who remembers the world still when all they had were the illuminated nightsky. It is to honour Greenwood the Great that she chooses a simple, but elegant green gown.
