#nendoroid repaint

first round of acetone stripping done! I'm planning on repainting the eyebrows to match and still deciding if I'll repaint the glasses or not 🤔

I am so happy I can finally post these pictures! This project had eaten up most of my creative time and energy throughout 2020. What started as a funny “haha I could make Nendoroids of our OCs” idea soon spiraled into this absolute huge project. The first part with Vincent can be found here. Now off to the second with my OC, Richard. He was a lot easier than Vincent, but posed his own unique challenge. There exists no Nendoroid with his hairstyle. Even finding one with shaved sides was difficult, and in the end Otabek was the closest I could find. We made a copy of it I could use as a base, since sculpting a hair piece from scratch would have made it difficult to get faceplates to actually fit. Afterwards I cut off/nearly sanded away everything and started sculpting. I have never sculpted something like this before and there are a few things I wish would look better, but all in all it’s decent and fits him well :’3 The rest of him was gladly a lot less work, just some easy airbrushing and painting. He has less parts and faces than Vincent, partly because he also is just less expressive as a character. In his case I also didn’t bother to airbrush his faceplates so they have the same skintone. Some are more pink, some more yellow. As long as it looked like a white guy though it was fine with me. I am so happy I can finally post these pictures! This project had eaten up most of my creative time and energy throughout 2020. What started as a funny “haha I could make Nendoroids of our OCs” idea soon spiraled into this absolute huge project. First one is @rheckon‘s Vincent. In his case I REALLY bit off more than I could chew. I had so many ideas for faces, parts and outfits for him, so I just...did them all. Which resulted in nine different faces for him alone (and there are still some I feel he’s missing!). Due to his skin color I first had to dye a lot of pieces, then airbrush and paint them. I never had dyed anything beforehand, but I am glad I did because it gave him a better base color to work with, even if I airbrushed over it later. At least now when he’s scratched it isn’t as obvious. His hair and clothes are all primed and airbrushed meanwhile. Am I 100% happy? No, there are some things I wish I had done differently. But for my first Nendoroid custom he turned out pretty well. Vincent de Luca - belongs to @rheckon Customization, photos and editing by me
