@nelliott It never amazes me how foreigners think they can tell the American people what’s good for them. The American people can think for ourselves, it’s why we kicked your Empire out. #StayInYourLane

He has the same amount as he does in 2019, if that’s what you’re asking. x
What will your administration do to further protect and advance the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community? - Nicholas Elliott, Washington Post
“A great question, especially in a day and age when many believe the fight for LGBTQ+ rights ended with same-sex marriage. I’d start by focusing on the current state of the United States,” Oliver begins. “I would pass laws that finally make it illegal to deny someone an apartment or fire them from a job because of their LGBTQ+ orientation, in the same way that discrimination based on gender and religion are already illegal. I’d also change the fact that gay people are unable to donate blood and close all loopholes that can make it virtually impossible for the LGBTQ+ community to adopt in certain states.” A topic which is especially close to him, considering the kids he wants to begin adopting the next few years.
“In terms of foreign policy, my first step would be making the immigration process expedited for asylum-seekers, including those fleeing their home county because of fear of torture or death for their sexuality. I’d also place economic and diplomatic pressure on countries that persecute LGBTQ+ individuals - a person fearing for their life or safety because of who they are anywhere should be a concern to activists everywhere.”

Dear diary, I met a boy. I met a boy and he’s so perfectly, fantastically terrible.
She can’t quite remember exactly what started their 17 year long tiff but, she does a remember a time when she was a much more outgoing and preppy girl and thought he was the coolest man she’d ever fucking meet. But regardless she loves to hate Nick, and she loves that he hates her too (it means she occupies at least a little part of his mind) also he’s a fun drinking partner and doesn’t judge her too hard when she sneaks a darty.

beer emoji, “ what’s your biggest secret ?” (hehe)
An easy, abrupt laugh slipped from his lips at the question. He doesn’t think much as he down another shot, thinking of the irony of the truth: you wouldn’t believe me if I told you. After his decorated career, there’s no one who would doubt his loyalty to the United States. He’s put his life on the line countless times. “I’m a walkin’, talkin’ top secret classified file.” Then, he put on a serious expression, shifty eyes darting back and forth as he looked around the bar. “But, I think it would be…” Then he leaned in close, close enough to whisper, so that only the other man would hear what he would have to say. The grave expression doesn’t falter for a moment as he spoke: “A tie between Area 51 and the fake moon landing.”

❛ i don’t get paid nearly enough to answer personal questions. try again later. ❜ there isn’t a word in the english lexicon to convey how greatly his words have unnerved her. the slash of her tongue is merely self-preservation – at least, the only form of it she knows. she slides her hand into her back pocket, curling around the silhouette of marlboro’s jutting from her jeans. this, too, is a survival mechanism.
❛ humour. someone who can take and make a joke has a pretty good chance with me – alas, not the ‘your mom’ variety. that’s too easy. ❜
What will your administration do to further protect and advance the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community? - Nicholas Elliott, Washington Post
It takes everything that Will has to stuff down his irritation on seeing Nick Elliott’s face, keeping his expression a mask of calm as much as possible.
“Mr. Elliott - thank you for the question. When I speak about defending the rights of citizens - I do mean all. I believe that protection under the law should apply to all Americans - and that includes issues like job security. In this day and age, gay people shouldn’t have to fear losing their jobs because of their orientation. In fact, having been in the Navy so long, I served through the era of the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy and it was one I always disagreed with. So ensuring job protection would certainly be on the list. Another thing would be to look into the issue of families and adoption. This is an issue that I have to admit I’ve wrestled with, but I think there’s room for discussion when it comes to the welfare of children in need of loving parents.”
