Lex was starting to worry— after confirming with Maeve’s job, his parents, and her flatmates that no one had seen her— he was truly freaking out. It wasn’t exactly like her to just disappear on him, and with the state of the world, with the statute falling, he feared for the worst. 

He sat across from Nell in a daze, his eyes snapping to her after a moment, as he realized she had been speaking. “I’m sorry—” He began, trying to clear his head. “My head ain’t really here today isit?”
