Since I can’t get the idea of who Abby’s mother was/is and what a possible part iii could be out of my head, let me just vent about it for a bit (there will most likely be a lot of plot-holes, but here goes) ;

While I do believe Abby’s mother is dead, what if she isn’t and never was? Assuming she’s a firefly, what if she was forced to leave Jerry and Abby - believing it would only be temporary - because she was stationed elsewhere, away from the salt lake outpost, and ended up being stuck at this other outpost for ... reasons.

And when the fireflies began to split up because of what happened at the hospital back in salt lake, she headed back (not exactly knowing the extent of what had really gone down) in hope of reuniting with Jerry and Abby, only to find that Jerry was dead and that the fireflies were no longer there.

Now believing that her daughter was dead as well, she found herself aimlessly wandering around just trying to get by, in this awful haze of grief and hopelessness - until she, one day, got a tip about a base all the way in Santa Barbara. And while not knowing whether it was merely a rumour or not, she now had a goal - to find her people again.

And so, after having found the base, though in Avalon, that’s where she ended up staying.

SO - what if TLOU Part III would center around Abby and her mother slowly beginning to reconnect and create the mother/daughter bond they should have had, and Abby growing into more of a mother figure to Lev? (I feel like she’s been more of a sister figure to him, but I also feel like she’d become much more of a mother figure with time, if that makes sense?)
