i wanna know ur opinion on like all of these but i'll show restraint and just send 3, 6, 15, and then a more positive/tell us about something good with 18!
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
i've seen a lot of g-dawful ones but this is one boost subjected me to a screenshot of last night.
these characters are all the same age one just has adhd & autism. guess which. Lmao
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
honestly i think because i avoid certain popular corners of dc comics fandom to this day it is the c0ldflash people from dctv flash. literally an unending nightmare.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
tbh so the biggest problem really is just Whitewashing which isn't like a fun answer it just sucks. but for slightly more petty grievances i hate "ohhh it's all of the flash family" art that excludes ace lol
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
read anything that isn't a batbook i am fucking begging you. read firestorm read jla's vibe read the shade read hourman read secret six read doom patrol. read fucking. astro city or something. read a popular book without batman in it like the flash or green arrow. Or Read An Indie Comic For The Love Of G-d.

24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
villain redemption arcs and what constitutes as them forever and always
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
if a character has been in your mind poorly but still consistently written as such for upwards of five years now i think that’s just their characterization now.
(i mentioned barry as someone who’s been poorly written since his death but i actually do like many modern barry storylines, i just think how he’s positioned in modern dc is a reflection of a fundamental misunderstanding of how boring and yet still unhinged he is.)
well i am who i am. and i am someone who finds morrison's doom patrol to be decent in its best moments with one or two genuinely very good issues (although "going underground" is the only issue i can remember currently) and absolutely abysmal at its worst. people remember one or two arcs--the painting that ate paris is the one everybody talks about as being a work of genius so of course there's that, then usually they remember the final arc with the candlemaker, then if you're lucky they'll be like oh! and the decreator! or oh! and the scissormen! but they don't remember the absolute slog of the bureau of normalcy, they don't remember most of down paradise way beyond "gay street," they don't remember when we had to go to another dimension and cliff got crab legs. because those issues are largely bad. the pacing is crude and the characters are unbalanced and at every opportunity morrison wants to tell you about how transphobic and racist they are and it is just quite frankly exhausting and i hate it.
obviously i wish they'd killed off almost anyone except for sue but other than that i'm having a hard time answering this question. i do definitely think that they should've killed off someone else instead of gehenna in blackest night, though. and i think it would've been better if al (or someone else, because i love al, but like... narratively... it'd fit best if it was al, in my opinion) died instead of grant (also in blackest night).
48. ___ should have stayed dead, let me explain…
barry should never have been brought back to life. his sacrifice meant something to the characters, especially the people who were closest to him, and it meant something to the readers that he'd gone to the marvel universe died saving just about everyone from a catastrophe at the end of crisis on infinite earths. there was no reason to bring him back other than nostalgia. they didn't even keep his backstory the same when they brought him back! they didn't even do anything interesting with him! speaking of which...
eobard thawne also absolutely should've stayed dead. his death was important because it marked a change in barry's character, and because of time travel nonsense we were still able to see him from time to time without it feeling like the death was undone (see: wally encountering him during chain lightning). we had a different and quite frankly more interesting character in hunter! his relationship with wally was interesting and weird! we didn't need to bring eobard back, and they clearly knew that when they did it.
51. Who’s the most misunderstood character?
ralph <3 i'm barely even joking it's ralph nobody gets that the only times he was an annoying sleaze it was an act to cheer up the people around him (or annoy whatever was annoying him, like in the waverider issue of justice league europe) or that he's genuinely incredibly smart. he's not stupid, his love for sue isn't shallow, and he loves his friends and family more than anything else, even fame.
the worst thing is liking a character for being the weird little guy they are only for people to keep flanderizing them down and driving me to madness but it’s all in an official capacity so technically no fan but the ones in charge are to blame. anyway anyone else here a fan of barry allen pre resurrection
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
most of the people i like are so obscure i wish they had Anything At All

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
i don't think it's good to get all of your information from tumblr or ao3 or ffnet or whatever (if people still use ffnet, i'm assuming they do) actually. if you don't want to buy comics at least pirate them my g-d. canon is dead sure but you need to at least understand what you're talking about!!
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
hmm. most of my favorites are unpopular because they're obscure and not for another reason, but... idk i feel like to this day dc folks are constantly ignoring and putting down duke thomas even though at this point he is in No Way obscure lmao. i think we are robin had a great comic and a pretty good execution, and that whole idea is part of why i like him so much, but i also think all that stuff that's like "ohhh well since he died jason todd can see ghosts now~" while fine in theory is like. oh so similar to duke's ability to see afterimages and precognitive ones in light? and he's also impulsive and somewhat reckless but deeply devoted to the people he cares about the way you want other characters to be? Okay
45, 50, 42, 40, 37 character of your choice, 34, 33, 28, 23, 22, 13, and 8. you do not have to do all of these
doing all of these minus one i've already answered but i'm putting them under a cut because it is really long. (non graphic abuse m and SA m for some of these, i don't know of good substitutes for my old trigger tags.)
8. What hero doesn't deserve their hype?
13. What’s the worst character assassination you’ve seen happen?
oh my g-d whatever priest was doing with j'onn in justice league task force... like i know that a whole big thing was that he was just "putting on an act for the kids" but a) it doesn't read that way and b) it doesn't matter if it was an act when it caused actual in-universe harm to the teenagers he was supposed to be in charge of. that was fucking nuts and it's one of the parts of task force i'm actually extremely glad got left behind.
22. If you could cancel one comic book that’s running right now, what would it be?
i don't even know if i can answer this. there are several. probably taylor's nightwing book because it seems like an ableist mess. i've also heard pretty much entirely negative things about robins. while i may not care about the batfamily, i stand in solidarity with people who do, and i am prepared to pull the trigger.
23. If you could erase one comic book from canon, what would it be?
identity crisis is already erased from canon so i'm actually not going to pick that and i am instead going to pick cry for justice. you're free now
28. What’s a popular fandom take you disagree with about [x]?
all dctv fanon about the rogues is pretty shitty but i really dislike the fanon of len asking barry for a sexual favor in exchange for his help. i love it when evil characters are evil but i don't think they realize that that's. like. a horrible thing to write him doing. len is fun as a criminal who does things like over elaborate and terribly run heists. that just... isn't fun. what the hell was the deal with that being accepted as canon
33. Which character that deserves a solo didn’t get one?
max mercury mini about him traveling through time helping people and learning to control himself while also redoing his backstory when
34. Which retcon do you hate the most?
every time geoff johns kills someone's mom i grow stronger and more powerful with my anger.
37. I wish fandom/official writers understood ___ about [x].
rita was abused by steve. it's incredibly explicit that he psychologically and emotionally abused her, and pretty obvious that it went beyond that in ways i've talked about in other posts. even though he and gar grew closer after the death of madame rouge, they still had a relationship made incredibly tumultuous largely because of this abuse. you can't hand wave that away.
42. What’s a fandom trope you hate?
i have a lot which is why i'm answering this one a second time! one on my mind currently that i don't think is as popular now as it used to be is people using the period following iris' pseudo-death (or killing her off in the modern day) as like... a period that can be mined for ship fodder for [redacted very popular ship with barry]. like even disregarding the misogyny there, don't make me tap the sign (the entirety of destiny is a stacked deck).
45. What’s the worst take you’ve seen about [x] (popular or not)?
not even one specific character in mind for this but i absolutely hate how people who read comics about teenage characters or watch adaptations of comics starring teenage characters (etc etc) get upset when they act like teens. like... of course this character didn't think this through all the way. they're sixteen. of course this character is acting childish. they are a child. and it leads to the worst takes imaginable about how they're bad protagonists because they're being written realistically. also the oliver queen is an abuser take is always shit.
50. What’s something that bled into comics from a tv show or movie that you hate?
i already answered this one but I will elaborate on the answer I gave there: felicity smoak was a great supporting character under conway and ostrander and tbh absolutely ruled as a businesswoman and a tech ceo and a mostly trained lawyer with a completely justifiable vendetta against superheroes like firestorm while unwittingly being the (step)mother of said superhero. and then arrow was like oh she does computers? we'll now ruin her for everyone and make this the only version of the character anybody knows. and if you don't like that then too bad.
i can't even answer this one because i've read so many bad comics. identity crisis is obviously a standout, but there's also the other dimension stuff from morrison's run that nobody remembers because it's so boring and sucks so badly, this one constantine story, the cliff stuff in weight of the worlds, most of psychobabble from manhunter, the family blood or whatever arc from batwoman... all for pretty different reasons.
21. Who’s the most overhyped villain excluding the Joker?
uh oh it's time for eobard thawne again. fuck this dude
36. What’s the most uninteresting fact you’ve learned about a character?
i actually love learning uninteresting facts (i.e., ralph did extra credit geography when he was a kid, rita met sigourney weaver, etc). i treasure them. sorry.
