Single guys standing outside the movie theater on Valentine's Day playing 50 shades of grey just waiting for the women to come out. Lol 😂😭 #valentinesday #singlelifeisthefunlife #neeyo #suitntie #champagnelife
Guys I need some moral support.
So Jordan is the only horse I've ridden since my concussion because I've been riding him forever (on and off, but I always come back to him) and he's very much an "Old Reliable" for me. I know all of his tricks and I know that he has my back. But my trainer wants me to switch horses and we've talked about other horses to switch to and who I might be good on because Jordan's getting kind of old and she also thinks that it would be good for me to have a change of pace.
I think it would be good for me too, but I'm terrified about switching. It feels like anytime I'm not on Jordan is when I get seriously injured and it's always in the fall. Sophomore year when I rode Chester I separated my shoulder and then last year when I was on Neeyo I had my concussion.
I know that she's not going to put me on a horse she thinks I can't handle, and every horse she thinks she might put me on she's been over with me, but as we get closer to my lesson on Sunday I'm getting more and more nervous.
I know and have ridden most of the horses I might switch to, and even though I know Alto is really good and I've loved riding him in the past, I'm nervous. And even though I'm excited that I might get to try Carlos or Vegas (two of our newer horses) because they're supposed to be amazing, I'm still nervous about what will happen.
Logically, I know I'll be okay, it's not like my trainer will be having me jump 3 ft oxers on a horse I'm riding for the first time that day. And even though we've been rigorously fixing all of my eq mistakes that led me to my concussion (and I'm a million times better and more balanced at the canter), I'm still nervous.
Any words of wisdom?
