Who knew love could leave you standing outside in the cold with a cigarette in your hand wondering where you went wrong; who knew love could leave you shaking in your bed uncontrollably at 3am reliving every bad moment; who knew love could leave you so empty and coarse to everyone, everything. Who knew love could leave you aimless and lonely. Because you knew what love felt like, at least you thought you did, and you've lost it over and over again. You have lost the person you planned to spend your life with and for what? They say that it's better to have loved than lost, than never to have loved at all. I would rather have spent a lifetime alone than to know what your lips felt like against mine. Than to know how soft and kind your voice was. Than to know what it felt like to have dreams, hopes. They say that love kills. They aren't wrong. But it's the knowing that kills. Knowing you'll never see the person you almost knew you were going to spend your life with again, kills.
