How would Misha be if he had to care for someone who was sick? 🎤 or it could be Strade who’s sick… >:3
This will be fun to write, I'll go with Strade for ease and for some development, and we're going to make him really sick, bedridden. A lot of it depends on the attachment and what point of development they're at. If Misha hasn’t yet formed an attachment to Strade, he’d be more observant than concerned—watching from a distance, not out of malice, but caution. Seeing Strade weakened would be unsettling. The man who was always in control, now vulnerable. Strange.
He wouldn’t offer help right away, just linger near the doorway, ears twitching at every sound. Close enough to listen, but not too close. Not out of care, but some unspoken obligation. If asked to stay, he’d curl up stiffly beside him, tense, slipping away the moment Strade fell asleep.
Once attachment sets in, hesitation lingers, but ignoring it becomes impossible. Instincts take over, bringing water without a word, pressing a hand to Strade’s forehead with a conflicted frown, unsure why he’s even doing it.
Seeing him sick unsettles Misha in a way he doesn’t like. Strade is always full of life, always strong. This is a reminder that even the strongest can weaken, and the thought sits wrong in his gut.
The thought twists inside him before he finally gives in, crawling up beside him, resting his head against his stomach or shoulder, leaning into his weight, feeling the rise and fall of his breathing, grounding himself in it. And in those moments, the realization creeps in... He’s come to rely on him. A home, food, safety. Love?
He isn’t sure about that last one, and he doesn’t know if he wants to be.
