the weightlifting thing is as surprising as it is cool :D Good luck with that!Ā
Thank you! It would be even more surprising if you actually saw what I looked like -- Iām really tiny, LMAO. As in, I tend to elicit theĀ āawww, sheās so cute!ā response rather than theĀ āholy shit she could break my noseā response. I guess this is why I sometimes get IDād at bars/nightclubs even though Iām 35 LOLĀ
But yeah, itās surprisingly addictive??? Like, I wasnāt expecting that 9 months ago, when I first started hiring a personal trainer -- and I didnāt even want to lift weights, I just went along with it for fanfic research -- and I certainly didnāt expect to still be here and actually taking it seriously! (Especially after all those times I ended up in tears at the gym, haha, because it was so tough at first. And Iām not exactly someone whoās new to exercise, given that I was a runner and martial artist in my teens and 20s -- and yet it was still so fucking hard!)Ā
But thereās something about seeing and feeling yourself get stronger and able to lift heavier weights -- to do more things that I couldnāt physically do before -- as well as seeing the muscle definition/tone on your body, that sort of makes you want to do it more? At least in my case, anyway.Ā
Also, huge bonus for me, as a lifelong severe insomniac who doesnāt respond to medication or therapy -- it helps me actually sleep, which in turn helps me manage depression and anxiety and all those other fun mental disorders Iāve been diagnosed with and been trying to manage for decades.Ā
So, yeah, in short, youāre not the only person whoās surprised that I lift -- Iām surprised too, definitely! Especially given how much I hated it at first! XD
