April 24 marks a historic anniversary for the Filipino masses and oppressed people around the world. While the Filipino people have militantly defended land and resources against oppressors for centuries, this struggle found firm ground and clear orientation fifty one years ago through the re-establishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines on December 26, 1968 and the unification with the New People's Army on March 29, 1969, and establishment of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines on April 24, 1973. The NDFP established itself in Baguio City in 1973, and since then has continued building alongside the masses consolidating local organs of political power in the countryside. To this day, the people's revolutionary movement has built local organs of political power within 74 out of 81 provinces throughout the Philippines archipelago. It is because of the application of revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and unflinching courage to adhere to its principles that the people's struggle has not just endured but advanced like wildfire, improving and transforming countless lives. The NDFP continues to act as a beacon for the Peoples' call for change - actively engaging in campaigns and discussions that promote full national sovereignty, democracy, socio-economic development through land reform & national industrialization, and so much more. Anakbayan Queens New York sends warm regards to those fighting for the liberation and welfare of the Filipino people. We remember freedom fighters and honor the revolutionaries who continue to serve the people. To this day, many serving the NDFP are currently political prisoners being illegally detained by the Government Republic of the Philippines (GRP), which violates international humanitarian law(s) (of JASIG and CAHRIHL). .
